Life Coaching for Mums

Sometimes the transition into motherhood comes easily and happily, and other times it’s a tougher job. If you are starting to feel concerned that you’re heading towards sadness or depression, please get in touch today. We believe there are many moments where opportunities arise to take a different route, before depression takes hold.

Taking anti-depressants can sometimes be right for an individual but they are not the only solution and are not right for everyone. Coaching could be an alternative, although do not confuse it with counselling. Coaching is an opportunity to take some time for you and to give you the head space to look forward and see happiness in your future with you and your baby.

Stuck in a rut

If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, coaching is particularly useful. It will help you think, help you organise yourself and make some decisions to get you out of it. Stay or go? Start or stop?  What to do, what not to do? Talking your options through with a coach is completely different from telling a friend, because the only one with a stake in the outcome is you. Coaching is for you - it’s your agenda and only yours.

Life as a single mum

Being a single Mummy can be thrilling, exhilarating, exhausting, overwhelming, truly awful or truly fantastic! Making decisions alone (however big or small they may be) can be difficult without a partner to share the burden. The cliché ‘a trouble shared is a trouble halved’ is never more true than when applied to sole parents, so having a Coach gives you an independent, non-biased sounding board to share those decisions in a confidential and caring environment. Just for the record, single Dads are very welcome too. Coaching helps you think better, and make clearer decisions.

Empty Nesters

You’ve been consumed by kids’ needs for years and then one day they leave and suddenly the nest feels very empty. There is a large amount of research about the huge impact on women of their children moving away. It doesn’t seem to matter if they’re working mums, or stay-at-home mums. The change is profound. Some love it, but some simply collapse.

Coaching can really help you decide how to make the best of the next chapter.  What do you want to do?  Who do you want to be?  What are your strengths?  What could possibly hold you back? There are often many things to juggle in the life of grown up mummies…kids…parents…financial plans…changing bodies and muddled thinking!

  • "Aly has a completely calm yet courageous way of challenging. Her integrity and challenge is the key to why I keep going back."
  • "I didn't know what to do, was trapped going around in circles. Aly identified from one meeting what it is that is important to me and the gap that was causing me to feel unsatisfied."
  • "Aly helped me realise what part I played in the dynamics in my team. I thought my team was behaving badly, but I came to understand the part I played in the whole game. I could take control of my own actions and recover my courage."
  • "I was in a more positive place as I found away to define what I want and how to get there."
  • "Hand on heart, I can say that I have changed my life since that first meeting. Would I have done it without help? Maybe, but I know that it would have taken me much longer, wasting time looking in the wrong directions or for alternatives that wouldn't have been sufficient in the long term."
